In any disaster situation, you don’t want to have to think about what to bring, you just want one kit, big enough to hold all the essentials to survive for 72 hours. That’s where Prepare Me America has developed a deluxe, all in one emergency survival kit with an average Amazon rating of 4.3 out of 5.
Convenience is key for any survival kit; you want the peace of mind that when disaster hits you will be prepared and weighing in at 32 pounds, you can store this carry bag anywhere from your car, home or office. Out of all the four person kits on the market, this one ticks most of the boxes for me and here is why.
Who is this Kit for?
Families of four or more (just make additions to the kit) or anyone who is fed up with wasting time trying to build their own kit and save a few bucks. Imagine what your time is worth, say $15 per hour for researching = 6 hours, 2 hours haggling on the phones and 2 hours waiting for replies, there is over $100 of your valuable time wasted when you could spend a couple of hours researching to find the best complete kit then buy it straight away.

The unique and easy to carry duffel bag includes 48 x 200 calorie bars (4 bars per person per day) with can last for up to 3 days. Each of these bars are tasty because they are made with natural ingredients without the preservatives or nuts. A very important thing when considering designing your own emergency rations is that you need to make sure your food doesn’t make you “want” more water, thirst provoking food is a detrimental quality to have in your rations but with Datrex, you dont have to worry.
3 in 1 – Crank Flashlight, Radio and Phone Charger
In today’s day and age, people go crazy if they lose reception on their phone so imagine what happens if your battery dies on you and you have no way of charging it? Did you forget to bring your spare batteries for your iphone? Damn…
This kit features a phone charger, hand crank style so you will never run out of phone battery in any situation.
Mine came with an adapter that provides a full-size USB connector. You would still need a cable from full-size USB to whatever connector your phone needs. Gregor H. answered on July 31, 2014
Now I don’t think you will be able to charge any device on this so make sure you get a USB adaptor and the right cable for you device to ensure a full charge.

32 Reviews – 4.3 out of 5 stars
Review by Carrie S – 5 stars – Nov 2013
Paraphrase – After spending months deciding on what to buy, this bag is “peace of mind and totally worth the price” (husband agrees). Not sure whether you could put your own bag together for a cheaper price but this bag still has room for more gear (tailor your own kit here). Perfect for the car and one less thing to worry about! One less thing to check off my list!
Review by Maria – 5 Stars – April 2014
Paraphrase – It’s more of a gym bag and has everything you need for a disaster for four people. I have added a few supplies but overall it’s a good collection of “should have” items.
Review by Robin Richter – 3 Stars – Jan 2014
Paraphrase – Kit contents were adequate at best and they would make do in a “pinch” situation. When you get your pack, make sure you read the instructions for some of the items (torches and tent). Convenience is fundamental here and the food and water rations were nicely packaged. I’m definitely adding items as this is a great starter kit for any family.
Gearhead Cons for the Bag –
Suggestions would be to bulk the pack out with more of the basics including:
Mountain House MREs– 29 Meals – 435 customer reviews – 4.6 stars out of 5.
LifeStraw Personal Water Filter – 1 off – 1347 customer reviews – 4.6/5 stars.
Also, some customers complained about the shipping time and we believe this is because their purchase time was just after the Japanese Fukushima nuclear disaster and stocks ran out. Customers did commend Prepare Me America’s staff for their timely service when they had delivery issues.
Final Survivalist Thoughts?
As we said the pack is a great starting point for a prepper but you will need to add some more supplies and maybe upgrade some items. For convenience and speed, this kit should be fine to have in the car if you commute long distances.
